I got this to spruce up an old leather jacket that my dad left to me. It was dull and very wrinkled from a lot of wear. These products were easy to use and brought the jacket back to life! It made scratches less noticeable and conditioned it well. I used it on black and it did not leave any marks on it with it being a lighter color. It came in a nice gift packaging with a pamphlet that has instructions. I am happy with it, I am going to do some of my leather boat shoes next!
Comes in a very nice giftable box. With instructions on how to use each one. I did use it on my Italian leather sofa and my husband's leather shoes. Doesn't have a bad strong scent and didn't leave it sticky or stain in our clothes while we seat on the couch. A little goes a long way.
I have to say that I was a bit skeptical. I have used leather conditioner which I like and which costs a good deal less, but the fact is that this works just as well ande it is made from plant materials and beeswax, not animal products. I also like that it is produced by a small family company, and it sounds like they stand behind their products.I tried the leather conditioner on a favorite purse. It has seen some use, but was not damaged. The leather conditioner did soften the leather and will also protect it a bit. Note: It did darken the leather so it is something to consider if you will be applying it to lighter colored leather. The beeswax waterproofing might have protected it better but since it was soft leather I used the conditioner on it and the beeswax waterproofing.I used the beeswax waterproofing on my favorite pair of Danskos, because it is VERY wet where I live and I want them to last. The beeswax waterproofing did not darken the leather but it did enhance the contrast in the pattern (which you can see in the second picture). My shoes now smell as good as an old pair of shoes can smell, which does worry me a bit. I found one in my dog's den last week and now that they smell like beeswax I am going to have to hide them before I go to bed.I did point to the expense early in this review so it is only fair for me to mention that after doing a large purse, a pair of shoes and a camera case it looks like it has scarcely been touched. It does not take a lot and you can likely take care of all of the leather you own for years with this little set, which makes it a very reasonable purchase.
Cleaned up my old saddle like a charm! Looks brand new again. Used the waterproofing on it as well and water just beads off the leather like water off a ducks back! Fast shipping, quality product, highly recommend! Also used on linesman utility/tool belt. Turned out great!
You can say i am a leather shoe shine buff extremist. I am a U.S.Marine from the good years where we took pride in our leather boots that looked like mirrors. I take extreme pride in my leather boots and care for them. As you can see from the picture i use many different products especially on my expensive pair of Allen Edmond boots. This product in particular absorbs very nicely. I use the leather cream first and after it thoroughly absorbs into the leather hydrating it, then I use the other part to waterproof it. After the second part absorbs nicely I will then use an appropriate shoe polish to cover and protect my leather from the elements and to give it a nice shine. I am not crazy about the scent of this product but it dissipates after it absorbs. I then use the polish on top and no longer smell it., but i do love my other product a small jar of Saphir hydrating lotion which smells amazing but its small and expensive. You can see it in my case. But I purchased this product because I needed something more than a lotion, i wanted to waterproof my leather a bit and this Beeswax product applies nicely and absorbs well. I’m very happy with both items in the box and both do what i need it to do. I will buy again.
I have used this product for about 2 months now on many different leather goods. Boots, wallets, key chains, dog collars, belts, knife sheaths and other miscellaneous items I have made. I wipe down the outside, rub a generous amount in by hand, let sit a few minutes then wipe off the excess. To apply the wax I rub a small amount in by hand then buff off the excess with a clean rag. If it’s an outdoor or heavily used product I will warm up the leather after applying the wax to let it soak in and improve the waterproofing. At this point I’ve used 4 leather creams and waterproofing oil/wax products. These products are a good balance between all of them.I highly doubt I’ll purchase anything else because of the quality and ease of use with Skidmore’s leather cream and waterproofing wax. These products make my leather goods that much better!I hope this review and the examples help you make your decision.Thanks!P.S. The leather used above is cheaper ($4-5 sq ft) veg tanned that is dyed dark brown. The wallet was treated new with both products 2-3 months ago and used daily. It has developed a nice sheen From the wax but was never tacky even at first application.
I've used these once so far on my leather riding boots, paddock boots, and a used pair of cowboy boots. I could see after the first use how it conditioned the leather in all three pairs of boots (especially the cowboy boots, which had lots of creases and cracks in the leather since I bought them used), and the beeswax waterproofing has done a great job keeping my tall boots cleaner after rides. Applying it is a bit tricky, just because the wax is stiff, but after you work it with the sheepskin application patch, I was able to apply a coat of it to my boots
Hi Tiffany, we're thrilled to hear how well the set worked for your boots! Thanks for sharing your experience! Quick Pro Tip: Heat the beeswax waterproofing in the microwave for 15 seconds to soften it up a bit, for easier application ;) Thanks for choosing True Leather Care!
This combination of conditioner and sealant are wonderful. My shoes have never looked so good
This does a great job of conditioning leather. We had an old jacket that was dried out and this aided us in restoring it. It's not new, of course, but it looks so much better and has new life in it. We couldn't get it looking good with the other conditioner we tried, but this got it looking pretty nice again. Good luck in your search.
The main use of this product for me was my prized leather jacket. I try to take good care of it, but it does get wet from the elements. Using a protector and conditioner like this keeps it in good shape. The smell is a bit too floral for me, but it goes away quickly.I've used this on jackets, briefcases, boots, and gloves, and it works great. A little goes a long way, and leather, after all, is an investment. You might as well protect it.
I have several pairs of leather boots and shoes, plus gloves. Four times a year I make it a point to clean and treat them all - one pair of winter boots is going on 25 years old.I tried the cream on two pairs of shoes and a pair of boots. The cream goes a long way. I prefer applying with my bare hands because I can work the product in everywhere and there's nothing absorbed into the cloth. After a few minutes I wiped off the cream. On split leather it darkens it - I expected that. On finished leather it leaves the leather glossy and slick, like it was just polished. There's a slightly unpleasant odor that lasts a couple of days. The oils had separated from the cream and I had to stir it in before using.I used the sealer on one pair of boots and one pair of shoes. I brush-cleaned both pairs first. I applied the wax with my fingers and worked it into both pairs. Then I heated them with a blow-dryer and worked in the wax some more. Both pairs look really nice and are 100% waterproof. The wax does darken most leathers. The blow dryer melts the wax into the threads and really helps the leather absorb the wax. But the scent of this wax is really strong, right out of the can. I actually had to stop after applying it to the first pair and switch rooms. My eyes were watering.I love the product but can do without the scent.
This was a gift .
Great stuff! Best leather products I've ever used.
Non-applicable
Smells great. All natural. And it conditions the leather beautifully.
Used Skidmore’s for years. Best stuff for boots, tack , saddles , etc.
I use Skidmore products on all of my leather stuff to include Kenetreck boots, saddles, and tack. Skidmore's doesn't change the color but definitely brings out the color. The leather becomes more pliable and the water doesn't seem to effect the leather. I recommend it.
Thanks I got it on time
I've been using Skidmore's on my riding boots for years now - it really keeps leather looking and feeling great, even with daily wear. I'd say this product is necessary for anyone who has high quality leather pieces, or is interested in purchasing well made shoes with the intention of them lasting a while. My boots are 5 years old and looking like new.
I bought this to care for the leather hat I wear while working outside. I ended up using it on every leather product I own (baseball gloves, boots, hats, belts, jackets, etc). I have recommended this product to several other people and they have loved it as well.
This stuff is FANTASTIC! I highly recommend using this product on your leather goods! I bought a sand colored headstall on EBay, when it arrived I noticed that is was extremely dry. I used Skidmore’s leather cream on it, and it not only brought the leather back to life and made very pliable it also revived its natural color of a nice chestnut. I have used this product on all my tack and saddles and can’t be more happy with the results! It’s hard to find a leather product that actually lives up to its claims, this product goes above and beyond! Will buy the 1ld tub from now on!!!
Great product. I’ve used mainly for hiking boots. But also used to restore some old leather products. Works great. Cheers!!

★★★★★If you know, you know. Apparently Skidmores's is the best in the business. I have no complaints. Recently got a buffalo leather Chesterfield. Twice a year, I'll be breaking this jar out, for many years to come.
